I'm a total body nerd. Also, a philosophy nerd, Registered Kinesiologist, pilates and yoga teacher. I LOVE to move.
My relationship with my own body wasn't always as positive as it is today. I struggled for years with chronic, debilitating low back pain and terrible migraine headaches - afraid of my own body; the pain it caused me and afraid that I would never find a way out of pain.
On the road to healing, I met a lot of brilliant teachers, and learned one very powerful lesson: MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE.
I know this is true, both from my studies in Movement Science and from my own personal experience - because I finally freed myself from the grip of pain using a simple, but potent combination of movement and self-massage techniques. Intelligent movement is a skill that can be taught - and that's what I do!
I help folks live more happily and healthfully using mindfulness and movement science.
If you'd like to learn about how to live better in your body or how to free yourself from movement habits that cause pain and dysfunction, I would love to assist you.
In addition to being a Registered Kinesiologist, pilates and yoga teacher. I work in pilates physiotherapy, teach private clients, and lead regular, weekly movement classes and teacher trainings across Canada and beyond in Yoga, Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model® Method.
My academic background is in Philosophy, Peace & Conflict Studies and Kinesiology, and I hold several additional certifications, including Exercise for Osteoporosis, Exercise for Cancer and Yoga for Arthritis.
